The School of Natural Resource Sciences,

welcomes you to
Lockyer Groundwater Web
This website has been established as a source of information about the groundwater resources of the Lockyer Valley. Water is fundamental to sustainable agricultural landuse in the valley, and groundwater is the main supply.
Here we aim to give an explanation of what the water systems of the Lockyer Valley are, and how they operate. We will provide information about the physical and geological features of the valley, how it functions as a catchment, and how groundwater occurs.
We see the Lockyer Valley as a very good example of a “hydrological system” with many component parts. We will attempt to explain how the whole system works and how the components link.
The website will also discuss specific aspects of water resources such as water quality, water use and monitoring, and groundwater models.

The aim of Lockyer Water Web is to provide the community with an understanding of its water resources to assist in responsible use and management. We further hope that the information in this website will provide a useful educational resource for schools of the region.
